ABOUT

I am a current graduate student in English Literature studying poetry. Before enrolling in a PhD program in 2015, I spent two years teaching conversational English to middle schoolers in South Korea. I was lucky enough to be placed first in the beautiful city of Gumi (in central Gyeongsangbuk-do) and later in Daegu, Korea's third most populous metropolitan area (with over 2.5 million people).

Between living with a homestay, talking kpop with my students and various other travels and experiences I developed a passion for this small country which kindly allowed me to call it 'home' for two years. I am still unraveling and learning from my time in Korea.

This blog that I began two years ago I hope will remain a record as I discover how Korea has integrated itself into my life. It is also a platform to share my musings on Korean language, dramas and music.

If you have any questions about Korea, teaching or any of the above feel free to ask!
